The Sha’ar HaNegev Regional Council (lit. Gate of the Negev Regional Council), is a regional council in the north-western Negev, in Israel’s Southern District. The Regional Council’s territory lies midway between Beersheba and Ashkelon, bounded on the west by the Gaza Strip. The city of Sderot forms an enclave within Sha’ar HaNegev. The region’s population is over 6,000, and covers an area of over 45,000 acres (approx. 180 km2 or 70 sq. mi.). There are 11 communities in this regional council, including 10 kibbutzim and one moshav. The communities in this council have been targeted often by rocket fire from terrorists in Gaza since the year 2000. This shelter is situated on the road opposite the junction leading to the elementary and high schools of the Sha’ar Hanegev region, as well as right across the street from Sapir Academic College, Israel’s largest public college.

About this Art Shelter:

Some words from the donors ❤️

“We chose to honor and celebrate Natalie Bat Mitzvah with the donation of the art shelter to JNF. We wanted to create a happy environment to to help ease the minds of those when seeking shelter. Our daughter Natalie has always been upbeat and enjoyed a life of adventure and sports while looking her best. We wanted those who sought the safety of shelter to think of something peaceful and enjoyable, from shopping, to enjoying a Starbucks and to being adventurous.”

Lovingly dedicated in honor of Natalie Davidoff’s Bat Mitzvah, by Steven, Lauren, Hailey and Ashley Davidoff
