Nitzan is a religiously observant community settlement in southern Israel, with a population of about 2, 660. Located within the Nitzanim Sand Dune Reserve north of Ashkelon, it falls under the jurisdiction of Hof Ashkelon Regional Council. It is situated 20 kms from the border with the Gaza Strip, and is often affected by terror rockets, targeting the cities nearby (Ashkelon and Ashdod).
The decoration for this artshelter was made possible thanks to a donation by Meril & Rich Salzburg, in memory of Bernie & Rhoda Weinstein. Nitzan is situated on the beautiful Mediterranian Sea, which is reflected in the artwork on this delightful-looking art shelter. The donors requested this theme because they “love gardening and beach life by the Gulf”.
